THE EVOLUTION OF THE SCRUB BOOT & DAILY SHOE

Here at Muck Boots, we are excited to celebrate 25 years with our customers.

25 years ago, it all started with a universal problem – muck.

Wet, sloppy, squelchy, dirty muck. We were determined to find a solution to keep our feet warm and dry through it all.

Of course, in reality, there's not just one solution, and our journey has been one of constant evolution, punctuated by a little revolution.

Back then, the Muck Boots HQ developed a classic, practical boot and shoe for everyday wear.

The Scrub boot and the Daily shoe were a unisex offering in a limited colour range and successfully served that purpose for many years.

Our product design and development are entirely consumer-focused, and as successful as the Daily shoes and Scrub boots were, we had to evolve.

Without sacrificing our identity, we aimed to develop better outsoles, a better fit, more user-friendly shaft heights, and design models that take into account the physiological differences between men and women – like the Muckster collection.

Since the overhaul of the Daily and the Scrub, the collection has constantly evolved. New colours and material applications have contributed to increasing its appeal and opening up new markets. The collection – RHS recommended – is a must-have for gardeners, but the shoes are also ideal for everyday use and outdoor work. And they are the perfect solution for camping or caravan holidays to keep feet dry when going to the toilet at night.

Originally, the Muckster II was launched in an ankle-high and a low silhouette. It is now also available as a women's mid-height boot with a practical roll-down shaft that can be worn both high and rolled down.

So much for evolution, but the time was also ripe for a revolution. In 2023, we launched the Muckster Lite Clog, a super lightweight, moulded clog made entirely from our patented BioLite foam. We introduced it at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023, and the clog was an instant success. For this reason, we introduced the Muckster Lite boot at this year's show.

It all started with the simple Scrub and Daily in just two colours. Today, the Muckster II is available in women's, men's, and children's sizes, covers 4 shaft heights, offers 45 colour options, and helped introduce new materials to the market.

25 successful years and this is just the beginning.
